Week 6 Blog Forum: My Hometown Ideas


  1. I'm going to be shooting this assignment in Sweet Home because that is where I currently live.
  2. A portrait idea that I have is one of my buddies at either Sankey Park or North Side Park.  A landscape idea I have is Foster Lake because it's one of the most popular destinations in Sweet Home. An activity photo idea I have is at the local, old-fashioned A&W, with people ordering and eating food.
  3. The most difficult photo to shoot, I assume, would be the activity photo, because I think I would want an overall shot of the whole restaurant, but that'll be rather difficult because of A&W's location.

Week 4 Blog Forum

 The item in the Code of Ethics section that I found most compelling was #6: "Editing should maintain the integrity of the photographic images' content and context. Do not manipulate images or add or alter sound in any way that can mislead viewers or misrepresent subjects." (Code of Ethics by NPPA). This one really stood out to me because of the common practice of using photoshop and etc. in public media to make subjects look "better" than they did originally. Under the section of "Ideally visual journalists should:", the one that caught my attention the most was #6: "Respect the integrity of the photographic moment." It's because it kind of goes along with item in the Code of Ethics I chose; don't change what's going on in the moment.
